Why am I so thirsty? It's a very common reason for people to visit their doctor. There are many reasons behind your thirst such as infection, kidney stones, cancer, medications, sugar intake, nerve damage and many more. But what causes our bodies to become so thirsty?

1. When we are dehydrated our bodies go into a thirst kill. Just as when we are hungry, we also need to dehydrate our bodies. The human body is composed of 70 percent water, which makes it imperative for us to stay hydrated.
2. If you are not consuming enough water, you will experience thirst more often. The minimum you should drink per day is 2 cups, but that is easier said than done. Studies show that most people require at least 4 cups of water daily.
3. If you are recovering from an infection, it will cause you to not feel thirsty at first but after a while you will start to feel thirsty again. infections due to medications will dehydrate your body more because of the risk of side effects.
4. Medications and cancerous tumors can cause our body to become dehydrated.
5. When you have been ill, your body will take water from your bones, organs and cells to help you recover. Having enough water on hand when you need it will help you heal faster.
6. Stress can cause you to feel thirsty, try to relax and deal with whatever is stressing you.
7. A condition known as sick sleep can also cause you to feel thirsty. You are sleeping so your body can relax, but instead you are tired because you are not getting enough sleep.
8. Most of us take too little water, leaving us dehydrated. Dehydration can have harmful effects on your health, so to help prevent the effects, make sure you drink enough water every day.
9. When you feel hungry, try to eat something healthy for a change. snack on fruit instead of cookies and kill your cravings.
10. Beverages such as coffee, soda, alcohol and sugar Free/ artificially sweetened.
11. If you drink the same thing every day, you probably already drink too much. If you want to cut the amount you drink, try to drink it in smaller glasses of water.
